Thai Silk Southwark

Went there for a birthday meal and had a few drinks. The food was great and the atmosphere very warm and welcoming.

Went to Thai Silk in Southwark last night with my adult children BIG mistake. We each had something different to eat and none of us enjoyed their meal Chicken dishes had a weird texture and we’re clearly highly processed, as was the sharing platter we had as a starter. Basically I blew £90 on rubbish.

Went to Thai Silk for an evening meal and the service was polite attentive and the staff understood the concept of vegetarian food without oyster sauce! The food was beautifully cooked and presented ,with so many options that we did not feel restricted. Good timing ,lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Would definitely go again and recommend others to go too.

We booked this based on the many 4* reviews but I have to say we were very disappointed with the quality of the meat in particular in the dishes. Flavours were fine but the chicken I. Particular (in all dishes) was definitely not right a weird spongy texture! To top it off the restaurant tried to automatically add a 12.5% gratuity to the bill! Won’t be going back!

We decided to try the soft shell crab at this restaurant. We arrived early and were given special menus for that time. We were planning to order one of the fixed price dinners along with the crab, but we found out that both of us would have to order the fixed price dinner and the soft shell crab was not included. Therefore, we decided to order a la carte instead. We were also presented with a special drink menu offering two cocktails for 10 GBP. We tried to order two different drinks from the list, but we were told that both drinks had to be the same. When we asked if we could order different drinks, we were refused. Because of this, we decided to leave. We recommend saving yourself time and going elsewhere.
