David's Catfish House - Spanish Fort

My wife and I went there shortly after it opened a few years back. It was late afternoon, and the lunch rush had mostly passed. Unfortunately, the catfish we were served was refried, soaked in grease, and the ends of the filets were hard and overcooked. It was truly disappointing! My wife ended up vomiting in their restroom before we could even leave, while I felt nauseous but managed not to throw up. I really enjoy a good catfish dinner, so I've decided to give them another chance after quite a long time. The problem is, I’ve heard from a friend that they also had an unpleasant experience, making it hard to convince my wife to join me this time. I hope it’s better on my next visit; otherwise, I won't hesitate to send it back.

I absolutely loved the catfish; it was incredibly fresh, and the turnip greens were the best I've ever had. If you're in Spanish Fort, AL, this is a must-visit spot! Whether you choose the all-you-can-eat option or just order takeout, you won't be disappointed. Our server, Lisa, was fantastic and very friendly. I highly recommend David's Catfish! Food: 5/5.

The food was enjoyable, but I rated it only 3 stars due to the customer service. I sat down and waited for 8 minutes without anyone acknowledging me. The woman cleaning tables just stood by, watching me wait for assistance. One waitress was busy asking her colleagues who was responsible for my table, but no one seemed to know or claimed it wasn’t theirs. Meanwhile, four staff members were gathered at the cash register chatting. Eventually, Trisha emerged from the back and took care of my table.

Shoutout to the young lady who took care of the Stewart family today. If you like fried seafood this is your happy place. ?Kid-friendliness: Our little niece who is three loved the popcorn shrimp, took the rest home.Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room, restaurant is one level double door to enter in. Tables are spread out enough to comfortably have a wheelchair.

Very good food, good service. Will be definitely going back if we get a chance. Could also taste the freshness of the shrimp, okra tasted good.Food: 5/5
