A menu which favoured the Japanese palette rather than a truly Italian experience! And waiters who at no point attempted to assist us with a menu translation but spoke some English) absolutely offended us. The food was very good, but if you don’t want Japanese, pizza, tripe, hamburgers, poke, it was slim pickings. Does not live up to its dated reviews. Much better cuisine can be found in the centre of Spello rather than being located in the middle of the industrial area outside of the old town. Without a doubt the very best restaurant and wine cellar is En Techo. Slow service, cleared our own table, had to hijack a waiter for dolce so good luck!
Poor service let this highly rated restaurant down tonight. As an Australian couple visiting Spello for a few weeks we can were looking forward to this highly rated restaurant which had been booked out days in advance. We were the first couple to arrive to a lovely outdoor setting with well spaced tables under a warm Umbrian night sky. The waitress provided us with no assistance in interpreting an extensive menu which included two pages of Sushi, someone unusual in the Umbrian countryside. The wine list was comprehensive and well priced. The beef slices were excellently, presented, medium rare, the pork ribs were dry, lacked marinade and were overcooked. The tiramisu was world-class, whilst two scoops of “copa gelato” somehow cost nine euro. This was a restaurant with great promise, full of Italians but let down by not enough staff to provide a reasonable service. Unfortunately times change and reviews can only describe performances at the time.
Very nice place and interesting kitchen. from the menu chosen for everyone, even if the brace does it as a master. great pizza and appetizers. tomato sauce, truffle frittatina on all. Sweets too. price in line with food, location and great service. the place anyway and the care with which it is kept makes the difference.
The restaurant is located in the industrial area so if you do not know the place or do not bookmarks you could never say that in such area there can be such a beautiful place....the girls who welcomed us were so cute educated and beautiful. the delicious food . the beef carpaccio I ate was well done and well matched with citrus and nuts...the strong piece however was the tiramisu of the head
Cesare dinner top in family varied menu and wide recommended parking
