Portofino Steak Pasta Seafood - Split

OK Toni, the excellent waiter will know that this is an understatement. This restaurant was 20 steps from our apartment and was always busy. The service and food was rightly excellent. The highlight was the excellent Risotto and the excellent Caesar salad with the succulent shrimps. Toni deserves a special mention!!

What a beautiful place! We had a fantastic meal here (I should say our best meal in Split)! I have Salmon Wellington and my daughter have the Risotto. The service was great, I liked that they had reservations and the portions were good. I suggest enjoying a meal here!

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Nestled into a side street, it opens up into a beautiful courtyard among the gorgeous buildings of Old Town Split. Great for a special occasion. Gazpacho, cheese plate, pasta, and lamb were all top notch. The cheese plate really was a standout.

Definitely the best dining experience we had in Split. The atmosphere in the outside seating area is very romantic. Our waiter was great with recommendations and fantastic with dealing with a large group like us. We had two courses, wine and cocktails around the table and ended up spending 80 eur per face. The dishes were lovely across the table and perfectly executed. I would highly recommend the scallops Tuna steak was well executed and a generous portion Sea bass was tender with a nice crispy skin but the puree could be more flavourful Salmon tartar was simple yet fresh The lobster pasta at 50€ per portion was really full of flavour but I found the pasta slightly overcooked for my liking. It was also served with cheese which I personally do not approve of.

Portofino was fantastic. One of the best dining experiences of our trip. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. They were full and said they couldn’t seat us outside, but when we arrived they had added a table outside just for us. The owner/manager also was very kind and attentive. There are lots of average restaurants in old town Split, but if you’re looking for a truly memorable dinner this is your place.
