I thoroughly enjoyed the Cortez pork sandwich, with perfectly cooked BBQ pulled pork and delicious toppings. We also tried the BBQ beans and potato salad, which were both tasty. The staff was friendly and we had a great time chatting with them. We plan to return with a group of friends. The peach cobbler was so delicious that I can't stop thinking about it. This restaurant proves the old saying true - don't judge a book by its cover. The food and service provided an exceptional experience and we are very happy we stopped by. The new name is "Bulldogs Famous BBQ and Brew," but the food is still fantastic. If you're looking for a flavorful meal and a pleasant experience, be sure to visit this place.
Ok when we showed up it was a little sketchy to say the least. The smell when we first walked in smelled like a meat locker so we were kind of scared.. lol. But once we went into the bar/restaurant area we were greeted instantly. Our sever was amazing and the food was outstanding! I ordered the Kennel Club and it was hands down the best club sandwich I’ve ever had. The Mac and cheese side option was good but kind of lacked flavor, but the cheese dip appetizer was amazing! Definitely will be going back to try more.
Was a little off the beaten path, had prompt friendly service, my order was to go. Brisket was some of the best ever, the pulled pork was dry. Not a deal breaker for me, sometimes these are hit and miss and will be back. Sides were good. Would give it a 4 1/2 if I could.
Three of us decided to try a new ribs restaurant in an industrial area of Hillyard. As we walked up to the steps, we noticed a large smoker and outdoor seating area on one side. Inside, the aroma of smoky meat greeted us, making our mouths water. The restaurant was fairly clean and new, having been open for about 3 years. My husband tried the ribs and found them to be quite tasty. My son was craving a pulled pork sandwich, but it wasn't ready yet. I had my heart set on a smoked turkey sandwich, but that wasn't available either. In the end, we both enjoyed the Hawaiian Sub they offered.
Everything about this place was unexpected. From the weird location to the delicious food. If you're looking for great service and amazing BBQ it's tucked away on a little dirt road in Dogtown.
