Feedback gevenWe came to Poole's to celebrate my son! We have passed by this place about a hundred times but have never stopped. As we pulled up it was obvious this was different than your average Spokane Fast Casual restaurant. The exterior is a sleek facade, resembling aBritish pub. We were greeted by a super friendly server and promptly seated. The menu is deep, but not overly expensive, and wow does the food park a punch! You've got to try the scotch egg, particularly with the country gravy, which was spot on. The beer selection was minimal, but they offer 16,22,and 32oz mugs We sampled pasta, the chili, and two sandwiches. You won't be disappointed. Cudos to the staff!
We went for breakfast today, and it was OK. My breakfast burrito was yummy and well made. Everyone else's hash browns looked good, golden brown and they enjoyed them. Mine were dark brown, hard as a rock and tasted like oil. Sad... I live hash browns and only allow myself to have them occasionally. Coffee is bottomless if they ever come to refill. We had to ask for the one refill we got. The biscuits came with no butter and we never saw our waiter again to ask for some... so we took it home where we knew we had butter. Overall a fun place to watch sports, but I'd choose somewhere else for breakfast.
I recently visited Poole's while I was in town earlier this week and wow, some things don't change and in the best way! Poole's still has one of the best breakfasts in Spokane in my opinion. I ordered the Eggs Benedict like I have in previous visits. Our server was friendly and made sure we were taken care of and happy. Ambiance in Poole's is sporty, lots of space, and great for big groups. My Eggs Benedict was perfect. Eggs were poached to perfection, toasted English muffin, tasty ham, delicious hollandaise sauce and crispy and hot hashbrowns. Thanks for the great visit, Poole's!
Great Burger joint, service was fast and friendly. Music wasn't too loud and we we're able to pick our own table to sit at. I love the giant garage doors, reminds me of Sonic restaurant. Food was ok, I got the veggie patty which they can put into any burger option. I noticed anything fried they tend to overcook a little bit. My patty was a bit black and my tater tots were very dry. I also got sweet potato fries last week and it was black as well. My friend got the fish and chips and the batter on the fish look hella cooked like a little too much cooked, he had to pick out the fish from the inside with a fork. My Brother in law said the meat burgers are very good never frozen gamey taste so I would recommend that if you like meat.
What happened to Poole 's breakfast? A couple of years ago, my wife and I visited Poole 's a few times for Sunday breakfast, then stopped going out due to you-know-what (starts with a C . We started back a few months ago but have reduced our schedule due to ridiculously high increases in costs, some expected due to a variety of reasons (transportation, labor, government , others due to opportunism, greed, and trying to recover lost revenues. Yep, prices are considerably higher, however we old people don 't make more so go less. But that is not the reason for this low rating. When we DID go there more often, the food was good. This Sunday morning, it was the opposite of good, and the service out of the kitchen was very, very slow. Thirty minutes slow, even though there were no local sports games and far from a packed house. My wife had the Mama Poole breakfast and I had the Country Benedict, with what was described as spicy sausage patties on a biscuit topped with gravy and eggs (in lieu of, well, eggs Benedict . I 'm a country boy so gave it a shot. I should have been shot. Beside the half pound of shredded hash browns (more white than brown, and actually barely warm was the pile of biscuit/sausage/gravy/sort-of-poached eggs. The biscuit was more like a Sottish scone with extra cement, the sausage patty maybe started as a meat product (turned jerky , thin, absolutely burned on both sides but with zero spicy, and the sausage gravy was as bland as you might expect out of a can. My wife 's biscuit was the same building block and she just couldn 't eat it. She did request honey to go with it and the cost-conscious server brought her two tiny Smucker 's packs (you know the kind, found in all your better breakfast dives . The only thing that saved them one star was the Sunday morning $5 **** Mary. Nice. Spicy. The only thing I might ask the next time is maybe some vodka in it. But pretty sure there won 't be a next time. Not sure if they serve water there. No one asked.
