Flat, with all the great biscuits available yo buy.. why these lame type? Bacon- was undercooked, chewy not crispy at all. Good tasting bacon just needed more time on the grill. Gravy- was good, thick enough. With a good biscuit it would of been good. Eggs- cooked as ordered, so good. On table no salt n pepper, nor napkins- so you have to ask for them. I would not order this breakfast again. But would try other dishes. Oh the place is noisy with only half full. So your conversation will needed to be louder to hear each other.
After seeing the reviews I'm surprised. We had an awesome server (her first week), and our food came out in 15min. It was such a cute place. We will definitely be back!
DO NOT GO HERE!! My husband and I were told to sit down and for 15 minutes not one staff member came to our table. The restaurant was not packed. A few moments after we walked in a group of ladies came in and immediately were attended to. Horrible staff.
Really cute place with ehh breakfast. Wasn 't the best, wasn 't the worst. Located in, The district on 46, the location is really great with lots of cool/cute shops around. My family of four (my wife and I, 2yo, and 8 month old) went on a Friday morning around 11:00ish. Completely empty. While we were there, we few couples had walked in. Waiter was really nice. We ordered the Ryan 's breakfast, a chocolate chip pancake, and two black coffees. The Ryan 's breakfast was a biscuit with eggs and bacon on top, covered in gravy. We got the gravy on the side. When it had come out, it wasn 't hot. Kinda warm but didn 't bother telling because we were hungry. Again, wasn 't the best, wasn 't the worst. The pancake was better. I liked the texture was a little like a funnel cake. Had some crispiness to it but not too much. The coffee was ehh. We drink it black so taste really matters lol. Was a little too dark for us. Overall, the experience was okay. Probably wouldn 't come back unless friends were asking us to join them.
We really wanted to like this restaurant. It is very charming, but if you are going to market yourself as a breakfast and lunch establishment, you need to have a high-quality, homemade menu. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Many of the items we tried tasted like they came straight from the freezer, including the biscuits, cinnamon rolls, and hash browns. The only dish that received positive feedback was the breakfast burrito. The staff seemed overwhelmed, although they were friendly. To make matters worse, a large group that was seated and ordered after us received their food before we did. With some effort, this place could be fantastic. Perhaps they could benefit from learning how to make homemade biscuits and fresh bread. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Darlene's. We may consider trying one of the nearby food trucks instead.
