I have been meaning to review this place for a while! It is some of the best ital food and the family who runs it are super nice. They always want to talk about the food and actually TALK about it, like they are interested in what you think and are proud of what they made! (And they should be--it's amazing. You can mix and match everything, and we always get the Mac and cheese on the side--it's very good and I have very high standards for Mac and cheese!
This is my favorite vegan location in New York. I’ve been attending this location for years. I guess that’s why I still come here — the food is the best I ever had. On top of that they offer vegan Jamaican food. Example; instead of jerk chicken they’ll have jerk potatoes, instead of curry goat they’ll have vegan curry goat consisting of some form of soy. But if you can you should try their vegan mac and cheese! What else is there to say other than if I had my own way I’d be coming here everyday! 5 star on my part.
We stopped by Caribreeze on the way to Cornwall and so happy we did! Everything we had was amazing from the moss-based smoothies to the ribs and spicy, spicy jerk chicken. We got two large plates each with three sides and took the recommendations from the sweet woman behind the counter (possibly also the chef? I should've inquired! on which sides to try, the Jamaican spinach was my favorite. We also got a side of mac n cheese because I can't ever turn down cashew based mac n cheese. We loved it all and finished the feast off with the most delicious carrot cake I've ever had, vegan or otherwise! Next roadtrip we will definitely stop in!
I was in visiting Spring Valley 9 years ago to revisit my childhood home. On my way out of town I saw the VEGAN sign but unfortunately the restaurant was closed that day. On 4/3/21 I did a revisit with my 96 yo mom. It was a great road trip, but this time the restaurant was open. I took a parking space across Church Street (Ave. . We went in, and received the most wonderful greeting and some taste tests for mom, who doesn 't eat Spicy . We ordered and it was excellent. Mom had yams, quinoa, mushroom stew, and Callaloo. I thoroughly loved the mushroom stew, the very spicy chicken jerk, curry chickpeas, red beans and rice and kale mango salad with watercress and we shared a Mac cashew cheese. It won 't be long before I return.
