The almond butter toast contains honey in the bread, so it is not completely vegan. The potatoes are satisfactory, and I appreciate the avocado toast if the egg is removed and replaced with potatoes. I agree with another reviewer that there should be more menu choices, particularly ones that are kid-friendly. It is almost 2024, and it shouldn't be difficult for First Watch to offer vegan pancakes and French toast, which can be easily modified.
I have been wanting to love First Watch for years. Both locations are convenient, with one being near one of my clinics. Over the years, I have enjoyed dishes such as their açai bowls, superfoods bowl, and my favorite, the hearty vegetable soup. However, they frequently change their menu and many times these options are not available. The hearty vegetable soup, in particular, is often replaced with Italian wedding soup, much to the disappointment of vegan customers. I often call ahead to check if they have the veggie soup, but unfortunately, most days they do not. I wish they would offer vegan pancakes or other child-friendly options, as it can be challenging for my little ones to find breakfast items they love. There are limited choices for kids with a vegan diet. They do have some unique items, like their refreshing kale tonics. During Covid, their service has not been great, and it is best to avoid weekends due to the large crowds. However, they are efficient in honoring online reservations, which is helpful. Both the Battlefield and Sunshine locations tend to be crowded and close by 2 PM, so be sure to go before then. It is advisable to call ahead and check if they have vegan options in stock. While they have plenty of lacto-ova vegetarian choices, their vegan menu could use improvement.
I have been wanting to visit this restaurant for years. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, and over the years I have enjoyed some of their dishes, such as their açai bowls, superfood dishes, and my favorite, the hearty sweet soup. However, they frequently change their menu and often these options are not available, especially the hearty sweet soup. I often call ahead to see if they have it, but most days they do not. I wish they would offer more vegan options for children, as it can be difficult for them to find something they like on the menu. Despite this, they have some unique items like their kale tonika which are refreshing. The service during COVID was not great, and I recommend avoiding weekends as it can be very busy. They are good about honoring online reservations, which is convenient. Both locations are often crowded and close at 2pm, so it's best to go earlier. It's a good idea to check if they have vegan options before visiting, as the menu could use some improvement in that area.
