Cathay 22 - Springfield

Probably the best Chinese lunch place in the Union County region, Cathay 22 always delivers with a generous hospitality, efficient service and consistent food quality. Recently this food visited and enjoyed a few different dishes from the lunch special menu. Tasting both a fish in garlic seasoned sauce and a beef and scalion dish proved pleasant. The fish was not spicy, so make sure they adapt accordingly if you like it with much heat. It was cooked nicely. The beef bowl was overloaded in onions and only a few scourges that were left a bit. While well cooked, the excess of onions does not serve the dish as well as it should. Soups, both egg drops and hot and sour were on site and delicious. For price, service and cleanliness, this is a great lunch break.

Authentic spicy deliciousness that's keep you coming back. Whether for takeout or sit down you cannot beat cathay. No other chinese food in the area comes close tbh.

Has DoorDash taken over? The service was straightforward, efficient, and offered great value. I ordered the steamed buns, pork dumplings, orange chicken, and sizzling beef, and everything was delicious! I highly recommend it.

Cathay 22 walks a fine line between authentic Chinese cuisine and the greasy American take on it, but it doesn't quite pull it off with finesse. China Chalet offers a more successful experience in comparison.
