Don't think Louisiana beignets but more like a light and airy stuffed puff. If they're really hotcoming out I would let it sit for a second. It's filled to the max and really creamy but after it sits for a sec it thinks a tadso the creamy filling stays put. For my entree, I order chicken and waffles with sweet potato brulee. The chicken was batteredwell and crispy. I also had the maple bourbon sauce to go with it. Overall and great meal with awesome service! I would go backagain for the service and of course the food. Because I really wanted to try the onion rings, crack bread and bruschetta.
We started with the crab beignets, which were exceptional. Then I had the Black-n-Blue salad and a bowl of french onion soup. My wife the Breakfast Burger. My salad was great. The soup was bland. Her burger and the rest of the menu were expensive and seemedpretentious. Sauces like blueberry ketchup and Honey Habanero syrup did not match well with the meals, in my opinion. And, manyof the meals were a combination of sweet and salty. It just wasn't my cup of tea. I did have a flight of beer which was nice. Ifthese things sound good to you, by all means please try them and make your own decision. The service was outstanding. We wentback later that night and ordered each of their three desserts which were the same, two cake/brownie slices with a scoop of icecream in between. One was chocolate based, another ooey gooey butter cake and a third pumpkin spice (obviously seasonal). Theyall tasted delicious and worth a stop.
Nice place downtown, we were seated quickly and our server took our drink order quickly. The food was prepared correctly and was good. The burger was one of best he had in a quite a while. I had a salad that was very tasty. Overall, a nice experience. Ifyou're in the neighborhood give them a try.
This place is okay but way too pricey for generic bar food. Our family of four split 2 meals and had an appetizer with a couple of beers and it was over $80. The kids mac n cheese was basic. No sides. The falafel wrap was okay, kinda bland. The kale chipswere soggy. The bruschetta was good. Beers were fine. Our server was okay. I don?t think I?ll be back due to all of this. Iwould just warn you that this may be disappointing. I was expecting a lot more.
Really neat place with great atmosphere. Love the decor. Impressive people-watching when dining on the patio. We shared the Chicken Donuts, which were outstanding! Definitely recommend. We also shared the Black Blue double burger with a side ofBrussel Sprouts. Burger was thick and tasty, Brussel sprouts were so good and a perfect side dish! We really enjoyed this areaof ?old? Springfield and this restaurant. Will come back any time we are in the area.
