Village Chicken - Springfield

This place has a big flavor, is locally owned, and has a unique atmosphere. The staff was friendly, although the service was a bit slow because they made everything fresh to order.

I have been coming to this restaurant for years. It offers the best value for your money! You can get a gyro plate with two sides and a drink for under $10. They also have family dinners, bowls, and more, but I always opt for the gyro as it is very filling and delicious. My favorite sides are the steak fries and cucumber salad. The other sides we tried, like the roasted potatoes, were also tasty. The staff is friendly, and the owners are very attentive and involved. Orders are prepared quickly without any issues. I highly recommend this place!

Cons: The cucumber sauce is just okay. It might be better to have it on the side so it doesn't overpower the meat. The gyro could use more feta cheese overall. Skip the cheeks as they taste like Campbell's tomato soup.
