Unfortunately, the food was really not very good, and the portion size was disappointingly paid for price.

We booked 3 days in advance via OpenTable for a table for 4 people (mich himself, partner and our two small children 7 and 5 years old) on 2. June, . When we arrived, the owner told us that they did not use the OpenTable booking service to not honor the booking. He said they were full and while he apologized, there was no solution to this busy bank holiday night. We tried a few other pubs in the village, but inevitably on a bank holiday everywhere was full. We found the less than helpful attitude of the owner very annoying, especially on behalf of our little children. I hope that this problem can be solved so that others do not have the same experience.

Upon arrival and staff to say that we had a booking, they said “the online booking system does not work and the kitchen is closed anyway.” Although they apologised, we were on a hiking holiday and left without supper and no transport to get anywhere. Not impressed that they knew the booking system didn't work, but didn't do anything.

It was Sunday, but it certainly didn't feel that way. No smells of cooking when we came in. Everything a little disappointing

When we arrived at the railway pub for our dinner reservation we were told that they were short staffed and not taking any bookings for food. We were advised that their internet has been playing up and weren’t receiving any bookings and kept forgetting to remove the option of making a reservation online. Their preference was to take telephone bookings. They did offer us a pizza but as it was a Sunday we had set ourselves up for a roast dinner. We did have one drink at the pub before heading off down to the St Agnes Hotel where we were in luck to get a table for 2 just before service finished. We had an excellent roast beef dinner.
