Fade To Black - St Albans

As always, Fade to Black was bustling, but we were willing to wait for a table and the wait was not too long. We enjoyed our usual coffee and three cheese toasties. The server suggested trying it with chilli jam, which my husband tried, but ultimately decided to stick with his usual order. The coffee at this place is really good, so of course we had another cup. Despite some negative reviews about the service, both the young lady who took our order and the young man who delivered our food were pleasant and friendly. The kitchen staff were working quickly to fill orders, and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We also indulged in some delicious cakes, particularly enjoying the danish pastries, which I highly recommend if you are there earlier in the day. They are amazing!

This charming coffee shop has excellent service and is quite popular, particularly among stylishly dressed mothers with young children. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to have a meaningful conversation due to the noise level. Nonetheless, there are plenty of other options to explore.

Due to the COVID restrictions slowly easing, it was great to have the opportunity to dine outdoors on the closed road section in Marshallwick, St. Albans. The coffee and cake were fantastic. Hopefully, the Council will consider keeping this road section closed so that we can continue to enjoy dining outside.

I am here to revise for my levels, recently the staff are so friendly and one even came up to congratulate me and my friends while we were revised for our Spanish speaking. it is very cozy and the drinks are...damaging quality, really recommend to come here if they want a place to relax. the atmosphere is unbeatable, so calm and so positive energy comes from the whole place. I love it here.
