Happy Fryer - St Albans

I am a food inspector. I really liked the food, I had a chicken kebab and cheesy chips with a salad and a rubicon mango. There was a seating area which was very clean. The man at the counter was really respectful and we had a very good chat. You can tell that he has been in the industry for a long time as he is very professional and it is a pleasure to have him in the Wheathampstead area. The food was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. The chicken kebab had a really indulgent signature sauce and the salad portion was very generous. The chili sauce had a good amount of spice and wasn't watery like other places. The cheesy chips were fresh and the cheese was of good quality and you could tell that the cheese was not cheap. The chips were well fried and the portion was very big. The wait time was very good. Overall, I believe the quality of the food was stupendous and I think that if you are in the area you should get some food.

A traditional chippy but with kebabs. Food is always good and portions very generous and very reasonably priced, we have never been disappointed. Gets very busy in the evenings best to phone order through in advance.

Amazing! Freshest fish around and always consistent. Would even say that its a contender against alot of coastal fish and chip shops.

Lovely chippy, I have never ate such crispy, juicy and tender fish before. Toilets were great for a little poo. They also had the Alladin's lamp aswell for drinking. 10/10

I’ve been going here for fish and chips for years. Huge portions, excellently cooked, never had any issues with them. Fast and efficient, and polite!!!
