Wong's Fish Chips - St Albans

PROS This place is my go to for quick, fresh, tasty Fish and Chips. Been going regularly since moving to area, everytime quality has been consistent, service from staff alway friendly and also consistent. A beautiful family business, you can really see the hard work that goes into the food.. You can taste quality everytime. Batter is so crispy like tempora, chips fresh, fluffy but with a crispy coating. Portions are great too, highly recommended. CONS Wish they were open 7 days a week! :

If there was such a thing as a Fish and Chips connoisseur, it would be me. I've been to every fish and chip shop in St Albans and surrounding area at least twice, and this is the best. Yes the place looks like a tired little Chinese takeaway, but don't let looks fool you. The service is great, the food cooked fresh and the fish and chips is wonderful! Fish generous portion in proper crunchy batter, chips look like premium potatoes, are super-clean and crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Give this place a go if you like good fish and chips!

I ended up at Wongs after a long bike ride. I had the chips, fried rice and I opted for BBQ sauce over curry sauce and was very happy with that decision. The chips at Wongs are really good, good chips shop chips, the BBQ sauce was an absolute delight, not too sweet but had that lovely smoky rib flavour and went really well with the rice and chips. Not bad for £4.80.

I have been going to Wong's for Fish Chips and Chinese for as long as I can remember. The food has always been great and the staff even better. Could not recommend more!
