Captain D's - St. Albans

When we finally received our order, the staff opened our boxed meals to check them before bagging them. However, we discovered that both of our meals were missing the hush puppies. I had to go back inside to get them, but even the doors going out were dirty and I had to use my foot to open them. Overall, the food looked and tasted fine, but the cleanliness and attention to detail at this restaurant were seriously lacking. I doubt we will be returning to the Saint Albans location. I hope the lack of care in hygiene doesn't make us sick. It's clear that there are some management issues that need to be addressed.

On May 24, 2024, we visited the restaurant and were disappointed to find out that the okra and macaroni sides were now $1 extra, making our $12 meal cost $14 without a drink. We ordered 2 samplers and a 20 piece shrimp, but were rung up for 2 extra premium sides of okra that we did not order, totaling $7. After pointing out the mistake, it was fixed, but the cashier claimed it was only a $2 difference when it was actually $7 less. We didn't receive one of the samplers and had to wait in the drive-thru line to get it, which resulted in our first meals getting cold. There were no apologies offered. When we asked for a drink, we were told they do not provide free drinks. This experience was disappointing, and we have decided not to return. our previous visits to this location have also been unsatisfactory due to issues with extra charges, small kids meals, and cleanliness concerns.
