The food was really excellent in both presentation and taste. Mushroom tarte with truffled mash was really good as was the crab souffle. Steak and duck main courses were also really excellent. Only slight issue was the deserts - not particularly inspiring but were told the chef was updating the desert menu. Would have loved to see a crepe suzette or tarte tatin. Will definitely be back!
Several small rooms, each with about three tables. Service was prompt. Had French Onion soup and steak. Both delicious.
We've been here more than a few times now and have never been let down by the food or the service. The menu always is just that bit more interesting, and the food is beautifully cooked. We eat out often and have tried every restaurant within twenty kilometres and this one is the best. The fish with celeriac mash, the steak, the lamb rack, all are excellent, and the desserts are exceptional. The rooms in the old cottage are cosy and charming, and the deck area is very pleasant on a nice day. Staff are warm and welcoming and prices are reasonable. BYO is welcome too.If you're in the St Ives shopping centre and looking for a meal that's better than the usual shopping centre fare, cross the road to this place. You won't be disappointed.
Our group went to Rosedale Cottage because it is a high quality restaurant that welcomes BYO even on weekends. We took high quality wines to match our expectations of great food and were not disappointed. The large off street parking area is another plus. The fine dining tables are in the various rooms of the Cottage. Lovely setting. The food has a strong French flavour - duck, ubiquitous barramundi, chicken, tender beef steaks, wonderful lamb and some vegetarian. You need to add sides to some of the meals. Sauces were very tasty, if a bit salty to my taste. Entres such as crab souffle and the pork were outstanding. Sorbets were great and the bomb Alaska spectacular. The service is very professional - not over attentive but on hand. This was an excellent dining experience, moderate fine dining prices.
Went here for a birthday dinner and was VERY pleasantly surprised on how good quality this beautiful French food was. I took a risk and got the snail entree and it was delicious! French cuisine
