My steak was not overly warm but came med as ordered. cajun was not spicey at all and seemed dryed out. It was a good dining experience with exception of the steak.
Three of us ate supper in June, 2017. We made reservations using the "Open Table" app. The restaurant is large and has inside and outside seating areas. We were welcomed and seated inside quickly. There are numerous TV's visible to bar patrons and diners, but the sound is turned down; it was easy to make conversation. Service was quick and friendly and the server was polite and knowledgeable. We ordered wine, the Crispy Calamari appetizer, an order of a 6 oz. steak with garlic mashed and fresh veg. plus shrimp, and an order of Cajun Chicken which was split by two of us. Everything was very good. The Crispy Calamari was particularly delicious and well cooked. The steak was cooked to order, the potatoes creamy and tasty and the vegetables cooked crisply. The Cajun Chicken was excellent too; it wasn't overly spicy. For desert we ordered the Coconut Cream Pie and the Peanut Butter Skillet Cookie. (the latter is basically an ice cream sundae.) Both were very good.We had a very good time and left feeling we'd had a good dinner for a fair price.
Terrible service, waited almost 2 hours for our food. They brought the appetizer after the main dishes. Three people had fries and when we asked for ketchup they brought 2 little containers after 10 minutes. No salt and pepper. They came around about 3 times making feeble excuses for the poor service. Very obviously under staffed. Many tables sitting with dirty dishes for the whole 2 hours we were there. I will never go there again.
We came here because they offered a free appitizer with our room key. We tried the Dynomite roll which was excellent, it was a prawn with mango, avacado, cucumber and Serachia sauce in a rice roll. I had cajun salmon that was cooked to perfection, my wife had fish and chips that she also liked. If there was an Earls where we live we'd be regulars. Try this place I don't think you'd be dissapointed.
Last night, I reminded myself why I rarely frequent Earls in St.Albert But Earls comes to mind when i think of enjoying a refreshing drink on a sunny patio after a tough week at work. Two of us arrived Friday at 5:30, only to find out that it had rained a bit in the early afternoon and the patio was closed. 20 degrees outside......and not a rain drop to be seen on the outside furniture. That was my first disappointment! Let's talk about the food..........I remember going to Earls for their Caesar salad because of the delicious garlic and anchovy dressing. Well now, it tastes like they use a basic store bought ranch dressing. Blah! And since when does a classic margarita pizza consist of a slight spread of sauce and bits of shredded basil? And further more. there's the $9.00 Happy Hour price for a 6 ounce glass of "What Cha Ma Call It" red wine. I am so disappointed with Earls in the last few years!
