Nice choice.... Good traditional Swiss Chalet food, although the ribs do not taste as good as some of the other SC I have been to. Service could be better as well as there are several older ladies that have the attitude that they will get there when they can.
Kudos. There is a back-story to this place though I 'm not sure if it 's true) that the owner used to own the SC on 170 street in Edmonton, sold that franchise back to the corporate office and opened this one in St. Albert, bringing with him a handful of staff. According to my sources the good food and great service went with the owner. I can now verify the last part.<br/ <br/ We were served by a wonderful person named Heather Ann who not only got our orders right including a call for gravy that tends to go missing in other places) but was extremely pleasant and even kid aware making sure the hot items were no where near my son). She had a little quirk of stating 'look at that wonderful meal ' or 'here comes an excellent plate ' for everything she served. I thought perhaps it was required marketing but asking around it seems that just who she is. <br/ <br/ I had ordered a half rack of ribs and on promotion received an upgrade to an additional quarter chicken $17). I have had ribs from SC before and found them to be greasy but in this case it was done perfectly. A little crisp on the top, light on the BBQ sauce and you can take it apart with your fingers; perfect combination. The chicken too seemed to be cooked longer then other locations, being a little more dry for the white meat but a lot less greasy which in my mind is a good trade-off. The fries were typical SC fries; I wish SC would figure a way to keep the good taste but not have the fries go soggy so quickly. <br/ <br/ Overall this location is clean, prompt, friendly, and serves up better then par food and is worth a visit.
The best Rotisserie Chicken, always friendly service and the food is ready very quickly.
Qick and reliable. Good service, fast and efficient. Also accommodating to my wife's request to substitute her side for mushrooms at no extra cost, even though it was not listed as a substitutable one. This is still primarily a chicken restaurant, and that is where they excel.4/5
