I got the Brown Sugar Milk Tea, which was sweet (but not too sweet), with warm brown sugar over the boba in the bottom of the cop. Other flavours, like Taro Milk, and Roasted Tea were tempting, but will be saved for another visit.
I didn't have high expectations for this place as large chain boba shops tend to have lower standards, but once I gave Coco a try, I totally changed my mind!! I went here twice during my visit to Canada first I got a taro milk tea with boba, 30% sweet, and second time I got a pearl milk tea and added grass jelly, also 30% sweet. The tea was strong which is one of the most important things to me. The boba was also cooked and sweetened perfectly. The entire time, I was watching what the employees were doing and saw that they were doing everything correctly (I work at a boba place!! and they were very transparent about everything they were doing (work area is visible to customers so I could tell that they had nothing to hide. They use fivestars rewards system which is very convenient and I love that I could sign up knowing my points wouldn't expire so I can save up every time I visit Canada!! Each drink purchased is 1 point, and 12 points get you a free drink. The interior is also very clean, and quite big. One thing though was that during my first visit, my drink was ready and sealed, but the workers, all occupied, forgot to take it out of the sealing machine and actually call my number. So I was waiting for another minute or two. I wasn't too worried about it though, as the place was very busy with the line out the door, so I totally understood the workers would've had a bit of difficulty managing. Overall I highly recommend you stop at Coco if you go to WEM. It's the best out of all boba places I tried there!!
The cashier lady taking my order was not very welcoming. There was no smile or greeting upon approaching the counter. As a first time customer to Coco it would have been nice to have been greeted and the menu shared. The computerized screen flips through the price menu so it is hard to look at, it wasn't until I spotted the menu that helped me to decide. I ordered a pearl milk tea and the strawberry slush. The worker never asked what sweetness I wanted my drinks, it wasn't until my friend told me you had to pick between 0, 30, 50 or 70% sweetness that I told the worker I wanted 30% sweetness. The debit/visa machine also has trouble as she kept having to put in my total for me to pay. Overall the quality and taste of the drinks were A+ but the customer service lacked friendliness, hard to hear the worker and no smile/greeting.
A great place for milk tea. Their milk teas are very tasty and made to order. I tried the jasmin milk tea and it was very tasty. Too many choices to list but needless to say a selection that can't be beat. The staff are super friendly. There is usually a line up but the wait is worth it. They offer other beverages to and I look forward to trying them in future visits.
So our nephew was pretty excited about this place opening up at WEM, and he was telling us all about it when we first got in. It was my birthday and we decided to hit this place up before bowling Surprised that this place doesn't have that many reviews, especially because it's located in the mall. As one prepares to open up in the U.S, I can say that their menu is very reminiscent of the boba shops back at home. They have the usual milk tea, fruit tea, smoothies, and slushes. Pros: Large spacious interior with nice aesthetics, like that random grass background near the cash register. There are also some indoor seating available for people to sit in and chill or some. You are able to adjust sugar and ice. Some places you can't do that but it's nice that you can here. Cons: Pretty pricey drinks. Service can be kinda slow but there was only like two workers at the time. They should invest in more workers working at a time to reduce wait time. Got their mango green tea with sago. I love that they use mango bits, it's like having a mango sago dessert! Definitely a better spot for boba in comparison to the other spots in the mall.
