Chop Shop Artisan Butcher

I've always been intrigued by the concept of butcher shops offering artisan products, but I never shopped at one before because I assumed they would be overpriced compared to grocery stores. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case at all. In fact, I found the prices to be quite affordable, and for some items, even lower than typical grocery store prices, while the quality was far superior. For just $32, I bought two Teres Major steaks, three crab cakes, and a container of the house-made remoulade sauce. I will definitely be adding the Chop Shop to my weekly grocery list!

I visited for the first time last Saturday. The woman at the cash register didn’t seem very happy or friendly, but the butcher was fantastic. I got a Terres Major steak and a couple of crab cakes. They were a bit pricey, but definitely worth it! Both dishes were full of flavor, and I highly recommend this place!

Our family prefers cooking at home to dining out, especially with how hectic our local restaurants can be! We’re happy to spend money on fresh, high-quality prime meat, poultry, and seafood. There’s usually something new and exciting to try, and some of the prepared dishes are fantastic time-savers (like étouffée). We also really value the local products and fresh produce. The butchers and staff have always been friendly and helpful. Plus, the loyalty rewards are a nice bonus!

Friendly staff and a great selection for about anything you need to make a great dinner. Aged prime meats, marinated meats, sausages and great sides just are the tip of the iceberg.

As a traveling personal chef, we aim to find the freshest products from local purveyors as often as possible. Chop Shop was just that. Not only did they have the meats we needed, they also had delicious seafood and fresh vegetable options to complete our client's meal! Not to mention the staff were all very helpful friendly. They will definitely be my go-to when serving St. Augustine clients!
