Crackle Barrel - St. Augustine

I really enjoy Cracker Barrel, especially their Fish Fry on Fridays. Typically, I dine in with my wife and son, but this time we were feeling a bit tired and opted to place a takeout order instead. They got our order exactly right and had it ready for us at the front when we arrived. In fact, they were already bringing the bag out just as I reached the counter, which was perfect timing. They also included plenty of biscuits and butter in the bag, which was a nice touch.

Our waitress was fantastic. She made sure our drinks were always filled and even offered to bring out biscuits early to keep my one-year-old entertained. However, she didn't seem to know what fried eggs were, as mine came out incorrectly, but it was still tasty. I really appreciate the homemade, scratch-made meals; it's truly some comforting, down-home cooking. They have a wide variety of options, from burgers to meatloaf, fried chicken to omelets.

Ordered Thanksgiving feast dinner. Line to pick up food moved fast and everyone was friendly and showed you what the dinner consisted of when box arrived to my vehicle. Came with easy instructions to finish the meal. All ready in under 2 hours. One downside of the almost $200 I spent, macaroni and cheese was expired by a week. Noodles over cooked and just looked like a mess. I’ll continue to visit Cracker Barrel and order these meals but will definitely make sure everything is fresh before I take off. Was really looking forward the Mac and cheese though.

Perfect place for breakfast. The early crowd is loads of single men all eating alone. All facing the same direction! Kind of comical! As time went on more families and couples arrived. The food is good old reliable. You can always count on Cracker barrel, right? Tricky to get to, set way back. Our waitress Brandy was enchanting and delightful. Wanted to be best friends! She made all the difference.

I had the maple bacon chicken tenders it was a very nice meal. Next time, I'll try the grill chicken with bacon strips. The small country store is also neat. Have fun!
