This made it difficult to determine which items don't contain milk, and many vegetarian options seem to include yogurt. I recommend doing your research before placing an order. Additionally, I ordered the vegetable sambusa, but it arrived with meat in it.
Star of India was a great experience for us. We really appreciated the variety of options available, including vegan appetizers, flatbreads, and several vegan entrees. We tried many dishes, and each one was delicious and authentic. There is a dedicated vegetarian menu, along with additional vegan choices scattered throughout the regular menu. However, the vegan dishes are not specifically labeled as such, so we made sure to read the ingredients and confirmed with our server before ordering. The server was very knowledgeable and recommended a vegan alternative to naan (chapati), and was quick to inform us which entrees and appetizers contained dairy and which were vegan. The food and service were excellent. A note for spice lovers: the spice level tends to be on the medium-western-mild side, so if you enjoy Indian cuisine with some heat, I recommend ordering at least a level 3 or higher. The delivery order lacked a vegan section, making it difficult to determine which items are dairy-free. Additionally, while searching for vegetarian options, I found that some of them contain yogurt. It's important to do your research before placing an order. I also ordered vegetable sambusas, but they arrived with meat inside.
