The Swan Angel - St. Ives

We like to use Wetherspoons when visiting a new place as you can never really go wrong. The food and drink are usually good value for money. The Swan and Angel is no exception, and the service is very good. The food on this occasion was OK but not exactly piping hot. We have used it on many occasions and will definitely be going there again. The only small issue is the cleanliness of the tables. Quite often, the plates and glasses are removed from the previous occupants, but the tables are not wiped down, and we have to ask someone to do this before getting our food.

What can i say. It's another Weatherspoons. A public house that is exactly how most people like a pub to be. TV could be tucked away a bit more as i don't like TVs in pubs...but it is v small and easily ignored. Toilets are perfect and love how Weatherspoons male stand up urinals are separated enough for a little privacy. Of course price of drinks well cheaper than elsewhere...still about £1.75 for a pint of Ruddles...amazing. Lovely beer too! Very happy....even my Jalfrazi was tastier than some Indian restaurant curries.

Pizzas are normally nicer than last time, but apart from that, it was a good night.

We American breakfast , Pancakes were overheated in the microwave. It was so difficult to cut into them. Bacon on the plate was not crispy at all . I had breakfast muffin it was okay, but it was cold. Staff, it was miserable . Fast service though.

Update 9/4/24 Thought I'd pop in again to see if any better, served by a miserable barmaid. Sat on a sticky table. Staff messing about with each other. Great lol Served by the most miserable barmaid i have had the displeasure to meet. Horrible service
