She only ate the fries. the service was slow, although he was really busy. the waitress was good.
We checked the sundance bar grill on the george street for lunch. it claims that it is a beer market. it has the usual selection of big name bier. nothing too exciting. because of the regatta it was quiet. gord ordered fish n chips. it looked and tasted good. I ordered medium wings. They were okay. there were only seven in the order, so I was still hungry and wish I had ordered pommes.
Extremely long wait, no apologies at all. Long wait to get drinks and also our food. Food was also cold when it arrived. Awful service.
The Sundance has been around for as long as I can remember and it seems to have been going through some growing pains the past few years with lots of closures, openings, and changes. Finally, a chef has a new vision for the Sundance that has improved it somewhat, but with still some old Sundance problems (long waits, poor service on their famous deck outside). The reason I say this is because I have heard some horror stories from friends about the service this summer on hot days. HOWEVER, I did not experience anything but great service on the day I went. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon with friends and sat on the deck. It wasn't that busy. Enjoyed some beers and lots of $5 menu items...which is obviously VERY cool. The hawkins cheesies mac 'n' cheese is HUGE and was in a rich bechemel sauce. The nachos, guacamole, and burger is what you'd expect from pub food. The big hit at our table was the Vietnamese noodle bowl. Wow - so yummy and rich for $5. Some really cute desserts on the menu, too. (Milk and cookies!!!). It's worth your while to go down and try some of these dishes. I really hope they make a go of it this time around. Good luck!
I try when I review not to give bad reviews, however, I have to in this case. We met coworkers here for a drink and food. We were seated, ordered drinks, 10-15 minutes pass, food order given, another 10-15 minutes, no sign of our drinks, finally 5 minutes after the appetizers arrive our drinks arrive (others in our party were asking every time they saw our server where the beverages were). Food was cheap, was ok, but nothing to write home about (or to photo). Drinks and the timely-ness of their delivery were an issue for the entire night. Would I go back? More then likely not. But if you want cheap food, ok drinks when they finally arrive then go, but don't expect to be in and out in a matter of minutes. Oh, and the excuses for our wait were hilarious. First was ran out of Clamato (it was 5pm), had to re-tap a keg, the bar was backed up(no one was behind the bar most of the night, the hostess seemed to float between Hosting and making drinks). We then asked for the check and that was a wait the reason they ran out of paper for the machine.
