The Dick Whittington Tavern - St Kilda

My sister and I went here for lunch on a cold,wet and miserable winters day and we had a lovely time. The fireplace was on and we had a table right next to it which was just what we needed. The lady who was our waitress was excellent and friendly. We had warm olives and saganaki for starters and they were both delicious. I had the pumpkin ravioli and my sister had the fish and chips. Both meals were a generous serving and very tasty. I think this place is a gem, the food was nice, the service was quick and our waitress excellent. We are definitely going again for lunch or dinner!

Had a midweek lunch with a group of fourteen, one of them knew the owners and they really looked after us. Had a large table out of the way which gave us a little privacy although it was very quiet being a Monday. The food and service were both great.

Havent been here for quite a number of years really glad we decided to revisit. We sat in the restaurant part of the pub but the bar area looks just as nice (minus the white table clothes and open fire). We shared the olives for entree which came with a generous serving of Humous and bread - delicious. Everyone ordered shepherd's pie - which came with a choice of chips or salad. The serve was ample and the taste was like good old fashioned shepherd's pie. Service was excellent and friendly and atmosphere is really nice. Highly recommend

An unpretentious but well situated local with a satisfying menu, decent serves, good wine list and competent service. Pity about the pokies in the other room but you can't see them from the dining room. Wednesday night is Locals Night with lots of tasty options. If you're still thirsty on the way home, the bottle shop is call "Dick Liquor"

Joined two mates for dinner last week. Driven by many times but never noticed the place. It's a real gem. I was the first to arrive and when I went into the dining room to get a table suddenly noticed that it was almost exclusively male diners. It was packed and had to wait awhile before getting a table. I soon discovered after my mates arrived that it was Gentlemen's Night and the deal was 2for1. Lovely atmosphere, buzzing crowd of diners and the staff were very helpful.The food is yours usual pub fare but can't complain there. It tasted lovely.Loved it and will be back on another Wednesday night but this time I will make a booking in advance.
