I've only been to the Kino theatre a few times. Not to see blockbuster films, more the gentle end of cinema. It is a unique gem, with restaurant, 2 bars with great cocktails . Shame I'm always driving, but my mates can enjoy. Comfy seats including sofa chairs. I saw The Miracle Club this evening. Rated poor by the Guardian. What do they know?! Featured my home town, and Lourdes. I think they got the Poolbeg chimneys wrong as they weren't there in 1967. That's just me googling and being picky. This is a great venue to enjoy poignant films that can resonate quietly with the main demographic. Middle aged female folk.
Great home cooked food, fast service and a unique setting with art exhibitions, cinema and music. We ate at Reel, the in house restaurant and bar. With the incomparable Bertie front of house, you can't go wrong!
I've got mixed ideas, but I'm starting with the good one. the room is beautifully designed, it feels modern and has a mix of artworks and sculptures. the food looked out and melted nicely, although we don't buy food, since it was nowhere to sit. the drinks prices were incredibly reasonable. in the interior of the cinema, the space was huge and surprisingly warm and the sitting places were not terrible. the beinzimmer was a plus. and having a bar in the theatre was a great idea, because you don't have to miss a second of the film. the bad points. when we arrived, it was our first visit, so we were not quite sure where we should go and the staff were not very helpful. the front rows that all comfortable sofas and sessel were all reserved, yet there was no possibility to reserve these seats if we booked tickets, we would like to have paid extra, but no option given and we have booked a long time in advance. there was about a thousand. his independent cinema so I get it, it must be that, but it was irritating. the sound was quite bad, the background music played from a loudspeaker, which was clearly louder than the loudspeakers who played the main dialogue. it was quite distracting and I missed parts of the dialog and there were some big marks on the screen that were noticeable. Finally, this was a better choice than standard cinemas and I will go back to try to eat as it really looked amazing! and see smaller companies in st leonards is so great! but for ton and picture I was not satisfied
Stylish, unique, and actually because of Covid, a really relaxing, spacious venue. Nice staff.
