We had high hopes for our drive downtown but ended up waiting an hour before our reservation time, which was our own fault. The hostess seemed stressed and we felt guilty. Lesson learned: make reservations and be on time. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed, taking 15 minutes just to bring our drinks. We waited a long time for our onion soup and main dish, with no appetizers to snack on. The drinks were gone quickly and we had to ask for refills after finishing our meal. The timing of everything felt off. On a positive note, we enjoyed the cute items from local vendors in the shop. I plan on reaching out to the owner to provide more feedback. Thank you.
Treat yourself and stop by this charming restaurant in St. Louis! The level of service is outstanding. The staff genuinely values your dining experience. The cuisine is simply incredible – every dish we tried was mouthwatering, but the steak was my personal favorite. Prepared flawlessly. I highly suggest giving it a try!
SqWires is a restaurant that I always recommend to visitors. Located in a historic area of the city, the atmosphere inside is truly unique. The food is exceptional - I have dined here many times and it never disappoints. Their weekend brunch is a must-try, and their Bloody Mary bar is a highlight (see photo). SqWires is definitely one of my favorite spots, and I highly suggest giving it a try if you haven't already. Tip: make a reservation for weekend visits or arrive early to secure a table, as it can get crowded during peak times.
Outstanding experience at SqWires for our 44th anniversary. Perfect intimate table next to the fireplace; plus a fantastic waiter, Mark; plus a delicious dinner made for a magical evening.
