Some friends from the United Kingdom there in Nov. 2018 on a Monday evening, made short-term reservations. The food was great. If we have the check, we will share the bill in half, and my husband, the ALWAYS will check it, but NOT this time, give our share on the table. Only if my friend looked a little concerned and mentioned that she didn't think we had such a big tab that he calculated and we found it out, we got a completely wrong check for a lot of money. It turned out that it was part of another table! Everyone can make mistakes, but I thought it was a big nono. But I will still go back and check the bill thoroughly: !
This place is highly recommended. It is excellent in both terms, quality of food and service. The wine list is stunning. We came to dinner on Thursday and the place was completely booked. Book a table before.
Went to St. Martiner Weinhausel about a week ago with my family and some family friends, and we were very impressed. Lunch was so pleasant that we came to lunch the next day. I have summarized both meals in a review. From the menu, u can... the cook has experience from other countries. We are indeed surprised when we saw satay and briyani rice listed. In addition to these exotic dishes from Asia there were also other entries like Ravioli, French Thin-Crust Pizza etc. The extensive menu of course our curiosity to test these dishes from home, so we decided to share many dishes. Our appetizers came and we are delighted with the cream of pea soup, Chicken Satay, Ratatouille Ravioli and Boiled Beef Fillet Jelly. I was naturally excited about the Chicken Satay to learn how Satay in a small German wine village on the good old street food from Malaysia and Singapore. The meat was very delicate and moist, immersed in sauce, radiated me a taste from home. I must mention the beef Jelly especially, it was a very, very good combination of thin delicate beef slices which are melted with solid jelly and leave a refreshing taste in your mouth. As an appetizer, it will surely grow our appetite! The ravioli was also something (I am usually more of a fan of unfilled pasta, but the texture and taste of ravioli let me ask why I did not eat ravioli anymore. In Sankt Martin you have to taste the wine. And why wait until the main course if u Aperitifs can pair to your appetizers! We had both the Gewürtraminer Tonic Hugo. The tonic was light and refreshing, as my wife put it, like a “hot of fresh air” (except in your mouth! perfect for the beautiful summer day. Typical enough, my wife couldn't resist and quickly gulped most of them... The Hugo was a bit stronger, but it was also very good. As for the most important courses, you must try the Pork Cheeks, Briyani, Rack of Lamb and Pork Cheeks. Like Satay, I was also impressed by Briyani. The coloured fragrant rice with light spices was neither too wet nor dry, and couple with the rest of the bowl, in any case missing home food can make a non-problem! The lamb was really delicious. Tough and super hearty, we are abandoned fights that take the last piece. The Pork Cheeks from the Daily Specials menu was extremely soft and tasteful. Other noteworthy items are the homemade pommes. It wasn't just the 2-year-old of my friend who couldn't resist it, but none of us, including my friend's parents, could resist them! I understood that the chef has beaten his trade in the kitchens of Germany, Switzerland, Singapore and Africa, and it is absolutely remarkable to refine his menus and dishes with taste from different corners of the world with such great effect. Service was fast and attentive and decoration and comfort was great. If you're ever in Sankt Martin, be it for a good German wine or just through the city, make sure to stop in this restaurant.
