It was Valentines Day. The prix fixe menu had great options, and everything we ordered was excellent. The live music was lovely. We sat at an outside table, and we were lucky because the weather was perfect. The server was sufficient with a good attitude, but drinks took a while, and they were a little inconsistent in flavor. If I’m spending $10 on a drink that barely has one shot of liquor in it, it better taste amazing. Overall, though, it was a lovely dining experience.
Great atmosphere and tremendous food. Would love to visit again!
What an interesting neighborhood restaurant! On the other end of Beach Dr, somewhat away from the hustle and bustle, but within walking distance of all the other things that make the St. Petersburg waterfront so desirable. The decor is eclectic, comfortable and just the right amount of seating to keep Tryst a neighborhood favorite. The chef has put together a delicious, equally as eclectic menu. We opened our meal with the Brussel Sprouts on the barbie and the sweet potato fries, while one was better than the other the accompanying dipping sauces were delightful. Our table had one order of chicken cordon bleu, roasted beet salad and two roasted romaine salads....no one was disappointed in their selection and when dining with good friends sharing from each other's plates is always acceptable! On an early Sunday evening it wasn't too crowded, but it certainly picked up and the noise level increased, but not too distracting to our own table conversation! Even with so many restaurants to choose from in the area we walked away knowing we would come back. Seriously, compliments to the Chef, it was an unexpected menu.
Not impressed and it did not live up to the reviews we read. The service was subpar; our server forgot our order, brought the wrong food, and was overall lacking. The food was mediocre, but the noise from the DJ was obnoxiously loud. It was impossible to carry on a conversation and the defending music completely disrupted the ambiance of the meal. I would not return, there are too many other great spots on the same strip.
