China House Restaurant - St. Thomas

For many years I have really liked China House. We haven't dined in for many years. We did tonight, and now I understand why we don't normally. Firstly, those ugly fish that swim in the tank. My husband asked me to chose a place where he didn't have to look at them. The entire restaurant is decorated in 1980 fashion, and everything in worn out. The carpet is terrible, the chairs, the buffet all ready for the dump. The food however, still tastes pretty good. The waitress was very good, and other staff were all very busy. We chose a combo plate each of us and the price was very reasonable. So, as usual good food- inside dining hmmmmm. Just take the chef and the rest of the staff and put them into new surroundings and the clients would come right on in for sure.

I love the atmosphere and the service. I especially love watching the koi swimming about in their giant tank.The food is always hot and there is quite a selection from salads, Chinese and Canadian food. Something will appeal to even the pickiest eater in your family. I highly recommend this place for families, groups/parties/ and for singles.

This place has gone down hill!! Disgusting rotten tasting food. The owners don't give a **** about their customers. The worst Chinese food in town. Take my word for what it's worth and go somewhere else!!

Placed my order at 5:15 pm, to be delivered at 7:00 pm. Delivered at 7:20 pm. Ordered dinner for 5. Chicken Balls and Breaded Shrimp would feed 3 people. Received Sweet and Sour Sauce when it should of been Pineapple. The Owners would not take any ownership of the lateness or lack of food. Will not order from them again. Such a spoil to my parent's anniversary dinner. Shame, shame, shame.

The service was not great. The food was mediocre. It was a disappointing dining experience. Would not recommend nor would I return.
