Feedback gevenWe tried this place last night before we left Wokfgang. It was delicous. This year we cane back and again, we enjoyed very much! it was just perfect. I like the mashroom source very much, goes very well with the beef or chicken. Curry is also nice, very tasty. i will high recomment to everyone.
What can I say about Gasthof Franz Josef that hasn't already been said!Tonight we had the garlic soup, superb, shared a fillet steak, perfectly cooked, shared to save room for the dessert, and what a dessert, home made sponge cake to die for!!! Marta, your most patient, friendly, understanding and customer focused host bakes them all. She should be on television teaching us all to cook, her cakes are the best. Thank you for two truly wonderful meals.
We ate here twice during our recent stay at St Wolfgang, having read the tripadvisor reviews. It was definitely worth the visit. The waitresses were very kind and welcoming, and both evenings we sat on the terrace. The menu is extensive and varied. I had a lovely tomato salad , followed by a grilled turkey salad the first night, whilst my husband had goulash soup and a burger. The following evening I had the tuna salad which was again great - generous helpings and very fresh. We had the house torte for dessert which was excellent. The restaurant is in a lovely setting by the lake, and very good value for food and drinks.
What a great find- central situation and a fantastic menu. The garlic soup was totally scrummy. I had a vegetarian burger - was a bit apprehensive as veggie burgers can be bland and disappointing- but this was excellent. I sometimes struggle with menu options in Austria but they have an entire page devoted to veg options here as well as some huge meat dishes for the carnivores! Our waitress was delightful and really kind to the very tired little girl in our party. The prices were reasonable. In fact it was so good we are going back again tonight!!
Family business He is in the kitchen. She is front of house. And she does all the baking. The menu has something for everyone Today we had fresh salads and Wiener schnitzel. One of the best I have had in Austria. If you go be sure to try their really homemade desserts. Beat many pastry shops in town. Soup and dessert always work as a 'light' lunch.
