Kim Son - Stafford

I tried to call in a to-go order at 8 PM, but no one answered the phone. After waiting until 8:30 PM, I decided to walk in. The young man at the bar told me they were closed, but when I spoke to the lady at the reception desk, she informed me I could still place an order at the bar. When I asked why the kitchen had closed early, the guy said this happens regularly as they approach closing time. I can understand closing 10 minutes before, but 30 minutes is simply unacceptable. I won’t be coming back.

The service at this restaurant left much to be desired. Many of the waitstaff seem to view your order as an inconvenience. You won’t receive a friendly greeting like, "Welcome to Kim Son, may I take your order?" Instead, they approach your table and stare until you begin to speak. Once the food arrives, it's usually done in a hurried manner, without anyone checking if the order is correct or if you need anything else. If you find yourself needing assistance during your meal, you’re likely to have a tough time getting the attention of a waiter. They tend to rush by your table, clearly trying to avoid making eye contact before disappearing into the kitchen. Additionally, this location is consistently unclean and has an unpleasant smell. After several visits hoping to give it a chance, I can confidently say I won’t be returning. It simply doesn’t meet acceptable standards.

During the event, he even argued with our guests in an angry manner right in front of everyone, which was very uncomfortable. According to our contract and regulations, we were supposed to have two police officers present for the event. While he charged us for this service, no officers ever showed up, and we weren't informed about this beforehand. After reviewing our wedding video and asking guests about the police officers, we attempted to follow up with Long via email, only to find that his email address is no longer valid. It seems he may have blocked us or deactivated it entirely. I advise others to pay close attention to the terms of the contract and to work with this venue very carefully.

Our server,Tina was exceptional with the warmest smile on her face the whole time! Great experience. The food was delicious.

I'm mixed about Kim's place. The food was good, I got the Pho deluxe, my wife got the garlic eggplant dish which was a great. The only issue that put me off was that it smelled a bit weird when we first walked in. Not sure if I'll go back, on the fence.
