Monty's Plaice

We dined in at this restaurant and found the surroundings to be pleasant and clean. The service was good as well. We both ordered the Fish and Chips with peas and were pleased with the freshness and portion size of the dish. However, we were disappointed with the quality of the drinks, a tea and a coffee, which tasted like they were made with low-quality tea bags and coffee. Despite this, the meal was overall enjoyable. We brought up our concern to the staff member serving us upon leaving, but they didn't seem to take it seriously. It's a shame that such a small detail had a negative impact on our dining experience.

Staff are lovely! The establishment is clean and tidy. Disappointed by some of the food itself, battered sausage was was bitty, the milkshake was nesquick and the gravy wasn’t great. The chips are lovely though, crispy.

Just had the Evening special of Small Fish, Chips, Peas a Mug of Coffee... Being someone who worked in a Chippy for 5 years, can I just say this meal was done to perfection, the fish when cut was perfectly white the batter was lovely and crispy. The chips where lovely fluffy white inside the mushy peas were the cherry on the top of this gorgeous meal.. I just had to complement the guyz when I walked out... Take care you can bet I'll be visiting again.....

We live in a town with three very bad fish and chip restaurants. Despite this, we still crave this British classic. The solution? A sixteen-mile drive to 'Monty's'. The service is great and the food is amazing! We opted for the fish special, a smaller portion that was just right for us. Everything was consistently delicious, just like our previous visits. Thank you to everyone at 'Monty's', we will definitely be returning.
