I ordered the tomato soup, which wasn't amazing but was ok (a little tinned tomatoey). The bread roll was lovely. My friend had the Welsh rarebit and we both commented on how the bread was a little disappointing. It really needed a much thicker slice. The coffee was also nice but again, it wasn't anything spectacular. I would definitely return and try other food options. Quite disappointing at nearly £30 for two, I expected a better afternoon tea. Sandwiches were plain, tuna mayo heavy on mayo. Four quarters per person so not generous. The worst part was the stale scones. I don't even think they were yesterday's scones, they tasted like they were two days old. So, so dry. I wanted to draw the staff's attention to this but nobody came to ask how our lunch was so it just would have felt awkward to approach them. Also I would have hoped to see homemade cakes at a place like this but they are cardboard wrapped and synthetic tasting. It's a shame.
