Thats some good pizza ...... Nonna's first came into my life a year or so ago when the smell of fresh garlic knots baking in the oven filled the entire street to the point I had to stop in for a quick bite. Its been part of my Friday routine since.
Nonna's Brick Oven Pizzeria Restaurant is home to good, not great pizza. Back when Nonna's first opened in 2009, I came by often for a slice or two, or the occasional family deal of a pie, buffalo wings, and soda for a whoppin' $20. But after exploring the neighborhood more, I've found better places to get pizza. The pizza at Nonna's is tasty, but the dough is chewy and not crisp, even if you ask them to make it that way. For plain pizzas, the tomato sauce is on the sweet side, and sometimes is a little bland. You can go for the pizza with toppings, but be warned, Nonna's likes to OD on toppings regardless of what it is Buffalo chicken, Chicken Marsala, or even their White Pizza. Nonna's menu also has the typical pizzeria items on the menu wedges, rolls and calzones, as well as typical Italian dishes. Regarding the rolls, the chicken roll is decent again, the sauce is bland, so you're gonna have to bring the roll home and use your own dipping sauce. On the plus side, Nonna's go
Nonna's has been taunting us for months to the point that we even tried to hold off on the Stamford Pizza Tournament back in July until they opened, but to no avail. While they may have not made our summer deadline, Nonna's is now open and serving pizza.
We went to try it since I heard from a friend how fabulous it was. It didn’t disappoint. I ordered a large pie with onions to go. The idea was to eat it next day, it smelled so good I broke down and had a slice. The crust was so delicious! The cheese and onions were perfect! This is my favorite pizza from now on! Thanks guys! Delicious!!!
