Once we stepped inside, we noticed that it was full of locals enjoying their meal at what seems to be their favorite cafe! It's easy to see why it's so popular - excellent service with a friendly attitude, a simple yet tasty menu, and very affordable prices. I asked for a small change (no chips) to my order and not only was it no trouble at all, but they also lowered the cost of my meal because of it! We would come back here every time. We absolutely loved it!
This place just keeps getting better every time I visit (about 3-4 times this year). Had my favoured carbonara with diced chicken... OMG, the best one they've served me yet. I will definitely be back next week on my way back through!
Was not very impressed. Felt menu was a bit bland, would have liked larger choice. Seemed popular though, customers must have been regulars as waitress seemed to know what was wanted. Maybe I am a bit harsh in my judgement but if you are the only Italian in town try harder, my opinion only.
A major refurb would make this place a whole lot more appealing. Laminex tables and old chairs, dirty carpet and awful pictures on the wall really don't add to the dining experience! The pasta was absolutely delicious, and the young girl who served us was obliging and friendly. Some extra touches like an offer of parmesan cheese or cracked pepper, and utensils other than a knife and fork to eat fettucine would be good. Also pasta choices would be good. All dishes are served with fettucine.
We recently ate lunch at L'Aquila where the meals were tasty and the coffee above average. My husband wanted to round things off with a $6 dessert but I couldn't order this due to a $10 card transaction minimum. I pointed out that we'd already spent $40 on meals but the staff insisted the business owner would not permit small card payments as they cost her money. To this owner I would like to say that unhappy customers cost a business more than card fees do. In the circumstances better to impose a small levy if you must but definitely serve the customer dessert if he wants it!
