Rosey Baby - Starkville

Our waitress was amazing and the bartender was just as great! Excellent food and all around great atmosphere.

The Rosey burger, Rosey fries, and blackened fried oysters were very good. As for the rest of our meal, no thank you. We had the Boudin Ball Platter, red beans and rice as a side and the Shrimp Gumbo. We couldn’t taste any Cajun/creole seasoning only what smelled and tasted like Tabasco. The red beans and rice had very little rice, no sausage, and overwhelming flavor and heat of Tabasco. We literally cut the Boudin balls opened to look for sausage and which appeared to be predominately rice. The shrimp Gumbo had a little rice, overcooked shrimp which tasted like salt water, one medallion of sausage, and again so much of what smelled and tasted like Tabasco it literally burned our mouths. No one finished their meal, but we ate ate all the fries and shared bites of a burger. All for over $100 with one glass of beer and wine. I have never written a negative review but this meal was mostly awful, especially for the price. I gave the food 2 stars because the burger and fries were very good. I would give the Cajun side of the meal a 0.

Very sweet waitress. Service was fairly quick. Didn 't get what I was expecting. The boil does not come in a bag as I 'd assumed. It 's a plate with 1 cluster of crablegs, a bowl of shrimp with a potato and a cob of corn.... that 's it. The oysters were cooked but tasted extremely uncooked. The shrimp was undercooked. Plus they charge you to use a debit card. Booth was way too small for us so we were very uncomfortable. On a brighter note, my mom enjoyed her shrimp etoufee, my daughter enjoyed her chicken linguini, and my husband enjoyed his catfish platter. The fries are more like potato chips FYI and the Mac and cheese was pretty good.

The server was super sweet. But it was 15 minutes before anyone even came over to get our drink order. There was a hair in our appetizer, like cooked into it. The manager took that off our ticket. But the food itself was bland and really nothing to write home about. And the beignets were just hollow greasy flavorless dough. Honestly overall pretty disappointing, wish I would’ve known beforehand so I could’ve chosen somewhere else to celebrate my birthday.

Food was cold when it arrived, and the fried food was kind of greasy. The catfish tasted good, but it was fried in oil that was too hot, so it was very dark. The beignets were too greasy, and the banana foster was kind of gross.
