Mad Mex - State College

Great staff, especially julia our bartender. they were really about the balance between being safe and having fun. had some fantastic wings and quesadillas to go with an excellent margarita!

Really fresh food, big portions, prices a little above average but within reason for downtown, and the food was served surprisingly quickly. Downside is it's a little roundy and not the kind of place is bring kids or even your parents if you're a college student.

This place has a very... Mexican Sports Bar feel to it. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and my waitress (Lola) was very nice. The food looked a little awkward and defied expectation. My wife did not enjoy the majority of her tacos, but my boneless wings were quite tasty. A good place to meet friends for drinks.

I love the Gobblerito! It's Thanksgiving inside a flour tortilla served with gravy and a side of cranberry sauce. It's a 5 star choice. I give Mad Mex 4 stars because I have a shellfish allergy and they do not practice kitchen quality standards high enough to minimize cross-contamination. On a prior visit, I got really sick because they grilled my chicken on the grill after they grilled someone's shrimp. If you have a food allergy and want grilled or fried food, take precautions.

(Updated) Ordered the Mad mex burrito with chicken and got it with steak. Food took a while to come back out. Server was apologetic. The burrito dish was well portioned but tasted extremely bland and was filled mostly with rice and beans, little protein to be found. Ambiance is nice.
