In addition to vegan pizzas, they also had packs, panini, sand pants, burgers, bowls! They even had vegan cheese! I often had to add my own when I try to veganize a dish. I had the grilled eggplant with paprika onions and vegan cheese on a hero Hubby had the grilled vegetables w Tofu vegan cheese. They were sooo good!!! My only complaint is that they have burned or burned the veggies too much. I know a lot of people like this, but burnt food is a carcinogen. Otherwise it definitely goes back. Thanks Bario's, for these healthier vegan options. Updated by previous review on 2020-11-21
That was a fantastic experience. I have lived my whole life on the SI and I have often eaten at Bario. I moved out of the state a few years ago and recently visited. I was surprised and sincerely impressed to learn that Bario’s now had vegan options and was very curious to find out what extent. You have your own menu for vegan options. In addition, all pizza can be made gluten-free. I don't know how they did it, but the cauliflower crust pizza was phenomenal. OMG Delish! I also tried the eggplant parma with grilled vegetables. I got two huge plates. One with the eggplant and the other with a delicious medley of squash, zucchini, red pepper and mushroom. This will be my place when I visit SI, as friends and Fam can have the usual pizza etc while I am in the plant-based pizza sky. Not to mention, Trader Joe is basically next door! Double victory for my visit. I look forward to trying other things on their menu. You have an FACEBOOK Club that meets once a month where you can come and try the items on the menu. So cool! Hopefully I will be in town for one of these meetings.
The service was very excellent and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They use VioLife cheese that I like much better than Days or Go Veggie. If you are looking for good New York pizza and it is vegan, this is your place. This is closer to the shopping center. My pizza was on my table in about 15 minutes. I would rate it 5 stars, but Happy Core Reserves, which are only available for vegan or vegetarian restaurants.
First, their vegan menu is much more extensive than what they post online. I post some pictures of the menu. Secondly, their vegan options are displayed prominently. It is the kind of place you only order from the counter, then sit down or take it to go. No real service in the house. Your bathroom was in construction while we were there, but they would offer the kitchen bath if you really needed it. With Violife cheese we surpassed the sausages, peppers and onion pizza. The pizza lasted 40 minutes. We have the whole wheat crust, so that it usually takes longer. The pizza came without the peppers and onions, so it added it, which lasted another 10-15 minutes. Not happy with the time it took, but overall the pizza was really good. I'd go again, but maybe we'll say:
They have expanded from offering just pizza with vegan cheese, to a whole vegan menu printed on full-color shiny paper and everything! So far I have had (all vegan! a Grandma Pizza Pie, Penne Marinara with eggplant, tofu ravioli marinara, vegan mozzarella sticks, sauteed asparagus; everything has been great! I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. For full disclosure I have also tried the spinach in garlic and oil, but it was not awesome. Highly recommend.
