I can't really say its my favorite Mexican restaurant on Staten Island but the prices are great, the portions are large and the food is just as okay as it could be. It may not be the best Mexican food but the quality is way better than anything you could get at a Chipotle or a Qdoba. My go to items are the Burrito bowl and Queso fundito. The Burrito bowl is served in a tostada, which makes the bowl edible, unlike what is offered at most Mexican franchises. It's delicious and never greasy or overly heavy and stuffy. The Queso fundido is a delicious take on fajita plates, except that there is an abundance of melted cheese added on the plate. It's a bit heavy but if you like heavy then hey, have fun! I can't get enough of it. One of the items I ordered one day was the fish fajitas and they were a bit dry; and so I usually go with the heavier stuff, like the queso fundito. It's a cute little place, the service is always excellent and they offer a variety of hot sauces for you! Perhaps this Tex-Mex is not as good as Sofias Taqueria, Cantina Mexican, Yolpaqui, and Maizel, but it's still way better than many other franchise restaurants, and the prices are way better and portions larger than Staten Island's most popular Tex-Mex restaurants.
On Tuesday, March 19th, 2019, around 3:30 PM, after finishing some errands, we decided it was time to check it out. To our delight, the place was nearly empty, and we were greeted by friendly servers with welcoming smiles. The great music playing really set the vibe, making it feel like a mini vacation while dining there. We started with fresh, warm nachos accompanied by homemade salsa. We also ordered a small side of guacamole, which I saved some of to top my steak tacos. Let me tell you, the steak tacos were absolutely amazing—so authentic and delicious! I particularly loved their green sauce. My wife opted for the chicken fajitas, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Both dishes came with Mexican rice and refried beans. I even tried her chicken, and it was spot on! For dessert, we couldn’t resist the fried vanilla ice cream, which was also delicious! There were no disappointments here—everything we ordered was perfect. With a lot of family on the island, we're eager to bring them here to try it for themselves. A special thanks to Arturo, our server, and Sylvia for providing us with a fantastic dining experience. We definitely plan to return with friends and family! Lastly, we want to extend our condolences to the owner’s family and staff. Keep making him proud!
Loved my brunch from this spot ! This cute lil Mexican place offers up a legit menu for brunch including unlimited drinks for two hours at a cost of $15... makes sense, even if you only have two. One drink will prob run you $7-8 depending on what you get. If you 're able to pound them down, this deal is def good for you. I changed my order a bit so I could get the eggs benne just over the pulled pork and refried beans (it originally came with a croissant, I gotta cut corners somewhere to fit in my pants, ya know? anyway, opted for a nice corn Tortilla on the side and a banging glass of white sangria that I loved. I had like two and felt good so use that unlimited drink in a two hour period wisely, lol. They have a nice kids menu as well for your little babes that would rather the basics, they 're willing to accommodate and they even give the kids cute little plastic cups with lids, that was perfect.. I 'd come back here for dinner since I love Mexican, I 'll check it next time I 'm in the area.
Came on a Monday afternoon for lunch. Pretty empty, not surprising for a Monday. They told us (party of 3) to sit wherever we want. The place seems clean, seats a good amount of people. Not your traditional Mexican taco joint, closer to Tex mex to me. They have lunch specials which is nice. I go the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla salad. This was surprising. It was a chicken and bacon bits quesadilla on top of a bed of mixed greens. Ranch was on the side. Very filling, definitely enjoyed it, but wasn't the best. But worth the money. My friends ordered burrito bowls, these came in a tortilla shell bowl.. ? My friend said the steak one was pretty good. We also ordered a medium sized guacamole, a pretty big portion. Looked much bigger than the small we saw from a table afar. The chips to guacamole ratio was definitely off, def not a lot of chips. But we took the ones from the ones that came with salsa when we sat down. The salsa kind of tastes like marinara which was interesting. All in all not a bad place, but I think there are better places for Mexican.
I've visited this restaurant several times now, and while it is quite small, we usually don’t have to wait more than 30 minutes for a table. The service has always been outstanding! We really enjoy coming here and plan to keep returning. My favorite dish is the pork quesadilla; its sweetness makes it incredibly delicious—it's always a safe choice! I've also tried the burritos and tacos, which are really tasty as well. The sangria is fantastic! Overall, it’s a wonderful spot for dinner and drinks with friends. Parking can be a bit tricky but not too bad—street parking on the nearby street is usually our best option!
