After a brief hold the gentleman on the phone told me it was. We walked over for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the menu. We ordered the harvest pizza with no cheese and no pesto and the gentleman helping us asked if we wanted vegan cheese. We don't like Daiya so were hesitant and asked him what brand. He couldn't remember, but walked us over to the cooler where they sold it (it is also a grocery store) and we were thrilled to see Violife! Even better, they didn't upcharge us for vegan cheese like most places do! We also had the breakfast burritos a couple times during our trip. The first time they were brought out, I could tell it was egg not tofu and asked about it. The young man was extremely apologetic as was the chef who whipped up a new (truly vegan) one very quickly. The mochas were good as well. I bought too many vegan candies from the grocery section lol
After finding out that Beau Jo's in Steamboat doesn't offer vegan cheese or plant-based sausage, we've given up on this place. We made two simple requests: could we substitute chicken for tofu and get some vegan cheese? Both requests were refused. Although they have these options available, it's clear they aren't interested in accommodating vegan customers. Very disappointing.
Throughout our trip, we also enjoyed their breakfast burritos. On our first order, I realized they had mistakenly put egg instead of tofu in the burrito, so I brought it to their attention. The young man was very apologetic, and the cook quickly prepared a new, fully vegan one. The mochas were great as well. I must admit, I ended up buying quite a few vegan treats from the food department, haha!
After discovering Beau Jo's in Steamboat, we were disappointed to find that they don't offer vegan cheese or plant-based sausage. We've given up hope for this place and made two simple requests: can we substitute tofu for the meat, and do you have vegan cheese? The answer to both was no. Although they have a reputation, it seems they're not willing to accommodate vegan customers.
