Danny's Bakery - Stephenville

The desserts and pastries at this restaurant are fantastic! They have a great selection made fresh on site. The eclair and flaky pastries were especially delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

Mediocre baked goods. Nothing to write home about. Extremely rude lady working the counter. If you hate your life don't work there, try something new. Would never go back. Sorry? Not sorry

The good: The Rum Balls were fantastic - fresh, flavorful, and moist. I would rate them 4.5/5. The Snowballs were also good, receiving a rating of 4/5. The Napolean squares were just okay - the cream was good but the pastry was not great, earning a 3/5. My girlfriend enjoyed the Mocha Cake, which was moist with a good mocha flavor in the icing. The BAD: The Cinnamon roll was the worst I've ever had - hard, dry, and flavorless, receiving a 0/5. The Strawberry (Raspberry?) swirl was flaky but not great in taste, earning a 3/5. The Chocolate cake square had okay outer chocolate but the cake itself was dry and flavorless, receiving a 2/5. The Peanut butter cookie, despite my love for peanut butter, was not done well - it was somewhat hard with a light PB flavor, earning a 2/5. The staff was not overly friendly but not rude either. They could have been warmer and more welcoming. If we were to return, it would only be for the Rum Balls, as they were running out quickly when we arrived.

The prices are reasonable at this restaurant. However, all the dishes taste bland and dry. The only tasty item on the menu is the Napoleon squares (but only sometimes). The staff has consistently been rude during my visits, which has led me to stop going there for a few months now. Overall, the combination of rude staff and bland food has been a deterrent for me.

This place is dangerous on the waistline! It was recommended by several of my co workers each and everyone saying you have to try the Napoleons bars! I was not disappointed! light and rich and with that little bit of sweet from the top layer, it was heavenly. I have traveled throughout Europe and have visited many, many pastry and bake shops and this one was on par and above many of the Authentic ones I have been to. Price was EXTREMELY reasonable! I have paid much more for much smaller portions in other locations. Should be featured on You Gotta Eat Here Will make it a permanent stop when I am on the west coast! Unlike other reviews the staff was great, friendly, patient, talkative and showed pride in the delectable creations.
