El Chef Latino - Sterling

My husband and daughter ordered carne asada tacos, but my husband noted that they were a bit dry, and the tortillas fell apart immediately. My son tried the flautas, but they were hard and brown—not golden—and indicated the use of old grease. I enjoyed my burrito, although I wasn't a fan of the black beans inside. The horchata wasn't the traditional Mexican version; it seemed to be Salvadoran style, with a chalky texture that was drinkable but not to my liking. On a positive note, the customer service was good, with both the gentleman and lady in the back being friendly. I plan to return and explore more of the menu while I'm in Sterling.

The service at their food truck is fantastic! They come to our school for events and are always quick to respond. Plus, they serve delicious food quickly!

The sausages, chicharrón, yuca, tortas, and pupusas are all excellent! I tried the pollo con crema, and it was delicious as well. The portions are generous! My only complaint is that the chorizo meat for the tacos was a bit dry. The rest of the tacos are decent.

El Chef Latino LLC has made significant progress since my first visit. The staff excels at accommodating menu requests and prepares meals with such care and quality that it's definitely worth trying them for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is located in Sterling, VA, right across from the new DMV. While it feels somewhat isolated in a small part of the shopping center that offers limited parking, nestled among a Subway, a Chinese restaurant, and a Hispanic bakery, it still stands out.

We visited on a Wednesday night and found the place to be quite peaceful. Upon entering, we were greeted by the charming street truck decor! I tried the pupusas filled with pork and cheese, which had the perfect balance of both ingredients along with just the right amount of dough. My favorite dish was the steak taco; the tortilla was crispier than it appeared, and the meat was cooked to perfection! Our food arrived in about 10 minutes. Overall, it's a lovely little spot for a quick bite during the week!
