It has been one of our favorite local restaurant to visit. Up until tonight, the food has been consistently good and delicious. Sadly tonight it was sub par. Much of our food seemed reheated and not freshly made. I hope this was an off night and not the new standard as I have enjoyed many a delicious meals there.
Stopped in after visiting the Nutcracker Village in downtown. Quickly greeted and seated. Clean restaurant. Well attended restrooms. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very good Italian food. Calamari was very good. Beer was cold. Very good salad. Service was very good. Nice atmosphere. Ate with realistic display of the Rat Pack . Steubenville is the hometown of Dean Martin. I would stop here again.
I previously gave a review of this restaurant. It was not necessarily the best at that time. I'm not sure if my wife and I were just there on a bad day or what. this experience has not been the same. The food was wonderful. The service was wonderful. The environment was amazing. Everything was timely. This was the experience that I was looking for last time. we started with the garlic bread which is covered in cheese and served with marinara sauce and it is absolutely delicious. I had the chicken parmesan which the chicken is to die for. The pasta that is served with it is obviously homemade and very good as well. My wife had the cheese ravioli with pink sauce. She could not decide if she wanted pink sauce or alfredo sauce and the waitress was kind enough to bring her samples of each. All I know is that you need to give places a second chance. I am not always on top of my game so I understand that that can happen for restaurants as well. If you're in town, check it out!
Love the gnocchi and the chili! That's all we ever order! We order carry out at least once a month from here.
Recently my wife and I went to Steubenville to see the great display of life sized nutcrackers, and once we were done, we went to Scaffidi 's for lunch. The restaurant itself is outside of the downtown area, at the end of an outdoor strip mall, with plenty of free parking. We were promptly greeted and seated. For lunch, my wife ordered the Make Your Own calzone at $9.95, and I ordered the Italian Hoagie, also at $9.95. Both sandwiches were huge, and really, really good! My wife, who grew up in New Jersey, said it was the best calzone she had eaten in years! High praise! The only downside to our luncheon was the waitress service, where on multiple occasions our server would disappear, even though there weren 't that many folks in the restaurant. For example, we were done for at least 15 minutes before she came over and asked if we were ready for the check, and it was another 10-15 minutes, once the check arrived, for her to return to pick it up. Thank goodness we weren 't in any sort of a rush. Other than that, I 'd absolutely return for the food, and hope I got a different waitress!
