Despite that, the food we ordered surpassed our expectations based on other reviews. I’ll include photos of the dining area and our takeout items. We chose to go to the restaurant to ask questions and order in person rather than online. When we arrived just after 5 PM (when they reopened for dinner), the cook was busy handling several online and delivery orders ahead of ours. The owner informed us it would take at least 20 minutes for our order, and it ended up taking around 25 minutes. We ordered Navratan Korma, pear (sweet) naan, tandoori chicken, mango lassi, and mint lassi. The only item we didn't enjoy was the mint lassi; the flavor combination wasn't to our liking. However, my husband declared the tandoori chicken some of the best he had ever tasted—the drumsticks were huge and flavorful. My korma was excellent as well; it tasted fresh and was served piping hot. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was well-wrapped for takeout. I really wish this restaurant were in my hometown! My advice would be to order ahead and use the online menu if possible to avoid a long wait. Even with the wait, it was worth it! The owner and the female clerk were friendly. Just a heads-up: you have to walk to the back of the grocery store to enter the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised by the service, expecting broken English and a strong accent, but it was fine. Thank you for the great experience! We hope to try the MoMo next time we’re in town.
I visited the restaurant for the first time and I'm definitely considering returning. Although it is on the pricier side, the portion sizes are generous and the food was delicious. Personally, I didn't find the meal spicy, but I can see how it might be for those with lower spice tolerance. The chef mentioned that they can make it spicier, and I appreciated their caution in case I was being a bit overzealous with my request for extra heat. Next time, I definitely want to try a hotter version. Overall, the milder dish was really tasty, and the staff were all very friendly, making for a wonderful experience.
This is the finest Indian restaurant in Stillwater, featuring friendly owners who always welcome you with a smile. It's also the only place in town that offers Indian groceries. I've discovered some intriguing food items and desserts from various parts of the world, including Kalijeera rice and Turkish Halva, which I really enjoyed. They stock all the essentials from South Asia (India, Nepal, Bangladesh). Just be sure to check the expiration dates on products, as their limited staff might not always keep the shelves fully updated.
Didn't even know they had a restaurant. Tried it out, it was phenomenal! Give it a try!
We were in Stillwater,Ok for couple of days, and found this hidden gem. Excellent tasting indian food. Had both vegetarian and chicken dishes, with naan and rice, were freshly made, spice level exactly as requested. Great taste to the dishes. Biryaani both chicken and lamb were very well made, with lots of meat with the rice. the lassi's were very good and refreshing. Gulab jamuns were great, very fluffy and not too sweet. Very good service by the family that runs the show. chef was very nice to talk to, appreciates his work and making people happy with his food. I have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants all over the US, but never expected to find such good tasting food in a small town. To top it all, the prices are very very reasonable, in this day and age of high inflation. If you ever head over there, would strongly recommend visiting this restaurant.
