Nice interior design (although it feels a little tacked on and most importantly: Great burgers! First, I want to say that you shouldn 't go here at lunch since you will only get the buffet where they fry your burger and you put whatever you want on it from a bar with bowls of onion, tomatoes, BBQ sauce etc. It is practical allowing the chefs to just keep making burgers without taking special orders into consideration. And maybe DIY appeals to you, but you won 't get the most delicious burgers this place has to offer that 's for sure. After 4 PM they start serving the burgers on the menu The Good , The Bad and The Ugly . Each with its own distinct concept and set of unique ingredients. These are different from the regular cheese burger and cheese and bacon burger , and very worthy of being permanent menu items. The burgers are always grilled to perfection with a pink center. If you want a spicy burger, go try The Bad . If you want to try a novelty style burger, go get The Ugly which has mushrooms and other unexpected ingredients!
Great vibes on a sunny day by the water. The decor is super super fun and in theme with their burgers. We had a The ugly burger and a Johnny 2 times, both were great. Super good meat which for me is essential, I feel they missed a little in the cheese since they could put a little of blue to bring out the taste of the gruyere. The fries where also great and they were right out of the fryer making them crunchy and warm inside. Super recommended!
WOW. After 10 months living in Stockholm, disappointed by every burger I 've had (Even when visiting Norrköping , I 've finally found a burger worth trying again. I recently moved to Kungsholmen and noticed that this place was just a few minutes away. When we decided to try it, I was a bit apprehensive. Even Texas Longhorn, that was so hyped up by my boyfriend, wasn 't that great to me. I walked in and the smell was heavenly. I 'm a NYC girl who loves Shake Shack, and the smell reminded me of my beloved shack burger. The decor is very 50 's, and I thought it was pretty cool. Many places in Stockholm try too hard to be modern, so this was a refreshing change. The staff was super friendly and helped us choose a beer to drink, since a lot of them were unfamiliar to me. I had Den Goden burger, which had bean sprouts, spinach, yellow beet, and avocado. I sat down kicking myself because I realized that the combination just sounded ABSURD. I was a bit scared to try it but once I did, I was so happy. The meat was DELICIOUS, just the perfect amount of moistness and flavor. The bun was a potato bun (I think? , a bit soft for some tastes, but I prefer this kind of bread on my burgers. The flavors of the toppings weren 't strong, but the avocado added a nice creaminess that was super pleasing. I also had disco fries, but I was a bit tired of them since my burger was so filling. They were pretty tasty though, and would probably be better if shared. I will definitely be back here. The prices aren 't cheap, but this is Stockholm, and they aren 't really expensive either. I think it 's totally worth it for a good burger and a beer. (P.S. I see all you Flippin Burgers enthusiasts in the reviews I 'm trying that next!
I 've been excited to try this place for awhile since everyone is raving about it. I was fighting the same feeling I had when I went to Flippin ' for the first time: this is going to be over rated, but like my experience there I was ready to be surprised. But any burger joint in Stockholm has to stand in the shadow of the giant, so in reality this is a vs. Flippin ' review (with a caveat in the end). I told them it was my first time there and asked what I should judge them on and they said the original burger. Good that you can stand behind something that 's no frills they must be proud of the taste of their meat. It 's all Swedish meat but she couldn 't say where from exactly. They do work the meat in house themselves, which is good! I went with a double patty because I really wanted to compare this place to Flippin ' and try and find a comparable experience. Knowing what I know now, that was probably a mistake more later. At first I really appreciated the taste of the burger! I could instantly tell the meat wasn 't as good as Flippin ' (which literally melts in your mouth) but I liked the taste in general and there was something a bit salty to it which struck a positive note. I thought definitely a 4 star burger. But as the meal wore on, I found myself enjoying it less and less and finding the taste really plain and backyard ish. I had a similar experience at Oljebaron. The bread was in the style of Flippin ' but not quite there. I did really enjoy the presence of diced pickles! The fries were completely average pub fries for me. I 've heard people say the same about Flippin ', which I disagree with, but I don 't think there is room for argument about these ones. The milkshakes are REALLY thick. I got the Oreo which the hostess said was the lightest of the special shakes which she recommended over the others and my friend got the chocolate and something or rather and also commented about how thick it was. I don 't think this is a shake destination, BUT I said the same thing at Flippin ' before I found the Strawberry Cheesecake. In summary and in my opinion, the base of this burger joint is really a follow the leader story. I know the burger emits American dreams but this place is a very similar diner feel to Flippin ' with American road trip pictures covering the walls. The quality of the meat is less BUT I have been to Flippin ' on off nights and know they don 't always reach the gold standard either. If there had been just a few more things going right here it could have tipped the scales: if the fries were better, the buns, the milkshakes, an excited hostess who wanted to share the story with me, if it were Summer and I had just spent the day by the water...And to top it off it 's definitely more expensive than Flippin '. But why? I 'll admit one thing I messed up: I should have got a original burger and pimped it out (their words) with the add on toppings, or gone with one of their in house styles. That 's where I would guess the best experience is here, and then it might be a better one. I would return and get one of their styled burgers, fries, and a beer on a warm Summer day. But not for the quality of the burger or anything else unique about Lily 's. It 's a great asset to Hornsbergs Strand, and a good option. But vs Flippin '? Loss by TKO.
Really great burgers! Among the best you'll find in Stockholm. Hard to rate on this 5-scale, I'd give it 8/10 so I'm rounding up to a 5/5 : Great burgers Nice service and super friendly staff Cool venue Diner style Good fries Some nice American beers just having a license is a big plus in Sweden They were out of a few things on the menu it's a build your burger type concept which is a small downer but didn't really affect my burger. The place is also kinda small so expect to wait a bit and a friend of mine made a really good point. There should be some fixed burger ala carte alternatives with proven ingredients that the chef thinks taste well together. Anyway, go here now!
