Bistro Rouget - Stockton

I am very disappointed that I received a text confirming my online reservation through Yelp the day before my visit to this restaurant, especially since they have been closed for over a month. I only found this out when I arrived to find the facility closed, with no signs explaining the situation. The telephone message still states that they are open and taking reservations. I only learned the truth by asking a neighboring business.

I spent the weekend in Stockton, NJ, and dined at Bistro Rouget. I was pleased to find that I could secure last-minute reservations without any hassle. Upon our arrival, the hostess greeted us with exceptional friendliness and attentiveness. From what I gathered, they offer an à la carte menu on Fridays. My wife ordered the French onion soup, which was absolutely incredible! The ingredients were top quality, and although I enjoyed the Leek Cheesecake, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed that I didn't choose the French onion soup myself. Both of us opted for the NY Strip steak with Pomme Frites, and we were delighted by the generous portions and the fresh pepper flavor! For dessert, we shared a slice of cake, which was enough for at least two people. While I could have skipped the dessert, it was still a fantastic way to kick off our weekend getaway. A couple of things to keep in mind: the restaurant is BYOB if you enjoy drinks, and they only accept cash, so be sure to plan accordingly.

This is my favorite restaurant, and I always choose to dine here. While I visit many restaurants, I come back to this one more than any other. The staff is extremely professional, and the food is incredibly flavorful. I never pass up the chance for a great dinner here. I highly recommend this place without hesitation.

Lovely spot in the little town of Stockton. Everything was excellent: food, service, people, atmosphere. It was a Saturday night and they encouraged us to sit and stay as long as we'd like. A very special place, I'd highly recommend.

The restaurant offers generous portion sizes at reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly, and their service is fantastic.
