Taste Of Jamaica - Stone Mountain

Taste of Jamaica in Atlanta lives up to its name by offering authentic Jamaican cuisine. The chefs at this restaurant have done an amazing job of bringing quality Jamaican food to the table. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. I had the jerk chicken with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains, all washed down with ginger beer. The portion sizes were generous and left me feeling satisfied. I also indulged in some beef patties for later, which were also fantastic. This is a takeout restaurant with limited seating, but the food offerings are extensive, including ice cream, rum and raisin, super malt, bun and cheese, and more. I can't wait to go back and try the oxtail next time. The cooks at Taste of Jamaica truly know how to deliver delicious Jamaican cuisine. As the Jamaicans would say, "One Love."

I ordered this on doordash. The reviews on doordash as well as google raved praises about this place. But this is the worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had. I ordered stew chicken rice and peas and cabbage. The cabbage had no seasoning. BLAND. The rice was subpar, and the gravy tasted and looked like straight up ketchup. Where was the browninggggg? Ugh. Take me back to Ochi.

UPDATE 2 stars: The response from the owner below is invalid. I paid cash not credit. I gave the lady $35. Three tens and one five. She gave me back $3.44 change. So she kept $10 extra. Thanks for the clarity on the points though.Original 3 stars: I have been coming here since he was located on covington highway. Great food, great quality and always good vibes when the tall man with the glasses is there. When they moved to S. Hairston I stopped going as often as I use to just due to where I live now myself.Today 7/3/23 I came and got a lunch special, 2 pieces of cake, a beef patty coco bread which from my calculation totals about $23-25 with tax. For some reason I was charged $31 and I am unsure why. They switched up the front where the food use to be so the kiosk has now moved to where only they can access it. I asked for my number to be put in for me to earn points get the receipt), she said ok processed my order but when I asked again about putting in the number because she never asked me what my number was) she said she couldn't do it this time. I'm instantly out of 31 points but on top of that I then asked is the receipt in the bag? and she told me yes. Of course I get home and there's no receipt in the bag, why? because you have to type in your phone number and it will ask if you want the receipt to be printed or texted to you. So I am unsure if she didn't do this because I was charged incorrectly or if she was just not paying attention but I definitely feel taken advantage of today on that.WIth this being said, they still have good food.

On Uber eats there is a buy 1 get 1 free for the curry Chicken plate that comes served with ? rice. The price of $12 is perfect for the amount you get.Definitely enjoyed the plate. Thanks !Food: 5/5
